Facilities and Building Hire Print E-mail

The facilities of the Mount Barker Church of Christ exist primarily to serve the needs of the Church community and its related activities. "Spare capacity" is made available to other groups in the community when it exists, subject to such use not infringing the activities of the Church community. The hire fees detailed below are not set at commercial levels because hiring of the Church facilities is not seen as a commercial activity, but rather a way of making best use of the facilities for the benefit of the wider community.

The Mt Barker Church of Christ facilities, provide a warm and inviting space for you to hold functions, seminars, or workshops.

The building offers a large open plan area with seating for one hundred people, a kitchen area, and male, female & disabled toilet facilities. It has a small "care room" for feeding / calming young children, a larger room for small group work, and foyer suitable for small displays of materials. The open plan area is fully air conditioned.

There is an Op Shop open Wednesday to Saturday 10am to 2pm. Subject to availability of staff, you may request that this facility also be opened for your group.

Between the buildings is a paved courtyard, and at the rear of the property is a garden area with pedestrian access to a large Council reserve. A sealed car park is provided, with disabled spaces close to the foyer doors.

PA facilities, including cassette recording and CD playing, Whiteboard, OHP & Screen, up to 7 Trestle Tables, Refreshment making facilities, Cutlery and Crockery are available. Any additional items required are the hirer's responsibility.

$75 - minimum for first 3 hours +
$25 per hour thereafter

Fees above include GST and are valid from 1st October 2008.


info Conditions for use of Church Facilities

Please:-

 

  • * Allow for setting up before, and cleaning up after, within your booked time.
  • * Supply own consumables- food, tea, coffee, milk, OHP sheets & pens etc.
  •  
  • * Leave all chairs neatly stacked.
  •  
  • * Put rubbish in the bins provided in the kitchens, or in the wheelie bin outside.
  •  
  • * Leave room tidy and vacuum if necessary.
  •  
  • * Leave the toilets clean and tidy.
  •  
  • * If you use it, clean it.
  •  
  • * There will be no smoking in any of the buildings.
  •  
  • * Windows MUST be left closed if airconditioning is being used.

 

The Organiser of any user group will be responsible to ensure the heaters, air conditioner, and any other electrical appliances are switched off, windows closed, and that the buildings are securely locked before leaving them.

Any failure to comply with these conditions may be taken into account when making future bookings.

Users of the premises may be asked to contribute to the cost of repairing damage or replacing breakages where it is evident that they are responsible.

There may be additional bookings not yet showing on the calendar, so there is no guarantee of availability on the basis of no other bookings showing on this website. If you wish to make a booking, please use our Booking Request form.
